Is it?

'Knowledge is power', said Francis Bacon. If he didnt ever say it, and someone from our age say that to us now, could it be triumphantly takes place in history or just 'goes without being said'? That was 1 of the 'lights' during the Renaissance after the church collaped, and it was Bacon who showed the switch of this all-age-truth.

Sometimes trivia make us ignorant...

Oh God, not only the name, but also the background color, the template, and we were both on blogger since october 2004!

What can I say is, we are just tiny ripples of a grand wave, and we naturally superposed on the wide ocean of probability...

Really like to know you... =)

To distinguish between good and bad philosophers is philosophy.

well, kant once said, 'it is precisely knowing its limits that philosophy exists.'

hmmm....would not go as far as saying that there limits are purely relative; cos if one were to firmly hold to that, that it follows that each one of us - be it good or bad - have, to a certain extent, their own justifications to set our own limits....also, saying that would mean that there is no absolutely firm 'ground' on which we could build our 'understanding'....and yet, we still have to have some form, however remote it might be, of certainty in our lives in order for us to function....

Heehee you got the point here but I'm sorry, I meant to make the quote upmost there goes that 'far', my friend. That is philosophy in my eyes and me.

The ground? Please refer my previous post entitled 'About the Art of Science'. The connection is there for those 'real eyes' which see...

Thank you. =)

i agree with your point....coincidentally, when i ws writing my ealier comment, i could somehow foresee that my thoughts are moving in the direction that you pointed out in your blog entry about the art of science......unsure why i did not explicitly state it though....

Hmm... Now you get one of my points. Yes, one of the issues in philosophy is about our limits. We can think of this and that and suggest these are our limits. But.. How far would we know about our limits? How sure would we be about those limits? How universal are those limits, and how far can we trust them? Who set the limits?! Are we capable of getting the whole pictures of ourselves by merely standing and thinking at where we are now?

Even contemporary physics theories need extra dimensions for them to mathematically work correctly.

Now it sounds like I'm back to my inner-outer systems hypotheses, and even worse, I sound like a skeptic. Both are true. I am a skeptic, but in my own way.

Yes Aimran, thank you. This is one of the encoded things in my "goes-without-being-said-here" quote up there... =)
